Sex? Maybe After a Drink or Two...

A new UK survey reveals that one in 20 women never have had sex while they were sober due to insecurities about their bodies.

Some other stats (which range from obvious to eye-opening):

  • 75 percent of the women said it's easier to go wild after a couple of drinks.
  • 40 percent of the women said they were always tipsy when they slept with someone for the first time.
  • Almost 50 percent said they enjoy sex better after a few drinks.
  • 14 percent of women in relationships said they cannot sleep with their partner unless they've had a couple drinks.

Do you think alcohol and sex go hand in hand?

I'd say the first time, yes, it does make it easier, but it should not be a prerequisite. And after the first time, it shouldn't be necessary, but I do agree that at times a few drinks can make things more interesting if you get in a rut.

Ha! So true.

Or is it hand in gland? Maybe the alcohol gives them an excuse, ie they can blame it on the alcohol rather than taking ownership of what they did. Also seems to tie into the old notion of women giving up something rather than accepting quite happily that they are sexual beings. Perhaps not as bad as lying back and thinking of England but still. Personally, the first time I want the woman sober; I want to know she is doing it as a conscious decision uninfluenced by artificial inhibition blockers. She may still hate herself in the morning (hopefully it won't also include me!) but it won't be for drinking too much.

Alcohol and inhibition definitely go hand in hand so this does not surprise me. Kind of sad.

Great blog. Feel free to stop by mine. I'm a fellow NY'er.
