I learned today that my debit card number was stolen. I got a call from Nordstrom's to confirm that the online order they had received for a $500 gift card was in fact valid. Thank God they called!
Of course, I immediately cancelled my card and alerted my bank. Add my name to the long list of those whose identity has been stolen...
(Sorry, I guess in my haste and frustration, I misspelled "compromise." It's now fixed.)

I'm sure you already know to call one of the credit ratings agencies, and they will alert the other agencies (so you only have to call one) Also they will put your credit on alert so these people can't set up accounts in your name. You'll get a notice everytime it appears that you have applied for any account (be it a new cc or car financing, etc) so you can stop it before it gets out of hand. I've had my identity stolen, my ebay account hijacked, and my wallet nabbed. Ain't it fun? Welcome to the club!
Scary!
AHHHHH! How do you think it happened? Yes, thank God Nordstrom's called you before hand. Maybe they can nab that son of a gun before he takes advantage of more people.
So sorry, Emie...Hugs and kisses...
Phew,Em, glad you found out in time xxxx
Urgh. What a hassle. Glad it got caught sooner rather than later.
Your blog is looking a bit anemic. Please let us in on what's going on this week.
